Let Us Pause to Honor the Memory of Mrs. Glenda Sue “Susie” Courtney Herrell
Mrs. Glenda Sue Courtney Herrell, age 52, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on April 23, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Tony E. & Bernice Gray Courtney. She resided a brief time of her life in Milton, Kentucky, but spent the majority of her life in Madison except for the years that her husband was in the service. She was a 1973, graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. She was united in marriage to Ralph O’Neil Smith and to this union arrived one daughter and one son to bless their home. She was a former certified nursing assistant for King’s Daughters’ Hospital, The Water’s of Clifty Falls, Hanover Nursing Center, Madison Nursing Home and Clark Memorial. On Jan. 5, 1990, she was united in marriage to Joseph Bay “Skip” Herrell, II in Madison, he brought to this union three daughters to bless their home. While living in Virginia she was a clerk for Burger King and after moving back to Madison in 1996, she had worked for the Madison Wal-Mart. She enjoyed the computer, crocheting, needle point, collecting dolls and spending time with her grandchildren. Susie died Monday, June 25, 2007 at 1:10 am at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

10 grandchildren: Nikki, Anthony, Bryton, Faith,
Haley, Sabrina, Trenton, Pyper, Justice & Bryce; her
sister: Carol Munson & her husband: Steve of
Madison, Indiana; 4 brothers: Tony Courtney & his
wife: Rita of Bedford, Kentucky; Dennis Courtney &
his wife: Shelby of Springfield, Louisiana, Donnie
Courtney & his wife: Tammy of Ozark, Alabama, Jim
Courtney of Indianapolis, Indiana; several nieces,
nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, & other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Bay
“Skip” Herrell, II; her father: Tony E. Courtney
died: April 15, 1999; her sister: Anna Jean “Jeanie”
Garriott died: March 29, 2001; her grandparents:
Ernest Howard & Hattie Hulett Courtney; James &
Flossie Gray.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June
28, 2007 at 11:00 am, by Evangelist Bill D. Kendall,
at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree
Drive, Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in
the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison, Indiana.
