The administration and faculty of WAHS accepted a proposal made by the
Würzburg Alumni Association to dedicate the high school gym in the memory of Coach Sellers.

The dedication was held on Sunday, November 21, 1999.
Mrs. Sellers, Pam and Marisa were in Würzburg for the dedication.

Our Heavenly Father,
We thank you for you bringing us all together today,
to share in this repast and to share and rekindle friendship with Karen and Pamela and Marissa.
To share in the memories and inspirations of John Sellers and the myriad of ways he has touched us.

We give you thanks, Lord, for the blessings you have bestowed upon us.
Our health, our lives, the love and friendship of our families and all who are gathered here today.

We give you thanks for allowing us to know John and Karen and their children,
all whom have been your instruments in spreading good will towards all.

We ask you, Lord, to help us become instruments in the likeness of John.
To challenge our students as well as ourselves,
to make the most of our lives, to never accept mediocrity as a standard,
to face life's difficulties with grace and dignity and enthusiasm and with a cheerful attitude.

These were the hallmarks of John's life and we have been inspired by him.

We ask you to bless us, to protect us and to mold us into instruments of peace, of joy,
of a zest for life just as you did with John.

For this we pray, in thy name.  Amen.

(This prayer was offered at the dedication ceremony by Mr. Bill Fitzgerald)
