Copperas Cove, TX
The army, out of the kindness of their heart, relocated us to Fort Hood, Texas.
I graduated from Copperas Cove High school in 81. From there I went to TX A&I
University in Kingsville, TX. I quit after 1 year. After some family issues, I
returned to Schweinfurt in 82 and stayed until 84. Returned to A&I for 1 more
year, then went into the Army Reserves. After a trip to Germany in the Reserves,
I went on Active Duty. Was assigned to The Old Guard, in Arlington VA. Spent 4
1/2 years there, married and had a son, who is now 18 and in college. Left DC
area and went to Korea. After 1 year, the army sent me to Fort Hood. I got
divorced in 94 and remarried in 96. Had a daughter in 98 and still married. My
current job is as a Network Analyst at one of the local hospitals here. You can
reach me at

can all get reconnected! GREAT JOB

Columbus, Ohio
Since leaving Germany I have lived several places. We went to Norfolk, Virginia
for just 6 month and then on to Columbus, Ohio where I graduated from high
school in 1981. I attended Capital University for a very short time. I dropped
out of college and got married. We had 2 children, Eryne 17 and Zachary 14. My
husband Marc was a Columbus Police Officer and he died in the line of duty on
April 5, 1995. Following his death I went back to college and got my bachelor's
degree in Communication from Cleveland State University. I started dating
(another cop) and we have been together for the last 10 years. He was
transferred to Columbus and so we moved back and I decided to go to Law School.
I graduated from Capital University Law School in 2004 and have been an
attorney, working as an Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor ever since. I can
be contacted at
rmuncy@insight.rr.com. Best Memory from living in Wurzburg had to be my trip
to London with Kris Reed and Betsy Mann. Ironically, my first husband was in the
army and we spent two years living in Darmstadt. While there I went back to
Wurzburg and the old high school. I was able to visit with my old science
teacher Mrs. Helton.

Lawton, OK
After graduating from WAHS, I attended the University of Maryland (Munich) for
one year. After that I returned to the states with my father. In 1983 he retired
from the military, and so we returned to Kitzingen, Germany. On December 83 I
landed a job working for the military bank on post (Würzburg). I stayed with
that company until Dec 94 when I returned to the states with my wife & 2
boys. We ended up in Lawton, Ok so she could be closer to her family. I started
working for a bank locally, when I decided I wanted to go back to school. So i
finally received a Bachelors degree in Computer Science & am working towards
a Masters degree. I currently work for a software company where the Army is our
biggest customer. I look forward to seeing old classmates at the reunion. For
those of you who can't make it to the reunion, you can contact me at rroman9818@aol.com.
Hope to hear from you guys.

Arlington, TX
After 22 yrs in the U.S. Air Force, I retired on 01 Feb 2005 at the rank of MSgt
(E-7). It's a bit different out here. All I've known for 38 of my 41 yrs on this
earth is the military (Pop joined the Army when I was two). I've been all over
the world (Spain, Italy, FLA [Far Lower Alabama], Germany, England, Egypt, Saudi
Arabia, France, Thailand and Japan). I've managed to do the majority of what
I've wanted to in life. Living in Kitzingen (71-73) and Schweinfurt (76-81), I
had a dream of playing pro football (Pittsburgh Steelers, of course), or flying
jets in the Air Force. Well, I got it 1/2 right. I played semi-pro football in
Spain, England (with Junior Seau's cousin, Leroy LaFiti) and in Abilene, Texas.
I also started taking flying lessons at RAF Lakenheath, England after I returned
for Desert Shield/Storm. As a member of the "Better Late Than Never
Club", I received my Private Pilot's License in April 2003 and earned a
Master's Degree in Aeronautical ! Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical
Univeristy in Oct 2003. Right now, I fly single-engine Cessna 172s out of
Arlington and Abilene, TX from time to time. I have my Mom to thank for this
because by watching her get her Bachelor's & Master's degrees while raising
5 kids, in addition to her giving me such a unique name, it made me a fighter in
that I never really lost focus on my goals. I instill this in my own children
everyday. After looking at this website and seeing classmates like Councilwoman
Lynette Boggs (81) and Dr. Leslie Gustavson (82) becoming so successful, it's
nice to see people that you knew have made it in life. I've seen Val Guyton in,
of all places, Abilene, TX (they say Abilene is God's Country. I say God has a
heckuva sense of humor)!!!!! I've even talked to John "Spider" Green
(80) and Plucky Taylor (81) on the phone. It seems like it was just yesterday
that we were all in the cafeteria talking and carrying on. I saw the photo of
the 1979 Wurzburg Wolves Football team with Dave Schmidtman, Carlton Forbes,
Tony Faison, Don Loafman and Richard Corona. Good to see you guys. Hopefully, I
can make the 2006 Reunion in Vegas. Back in Feb 2003, I went to Nellis AFB (Las
Vegas), NV as part of the ground crew for a B-1 bomber we had on display for
then Secretary of the Air Force Donald G. Roche, the Prime Minister of Poland
and other dignitaries. Anyway, I turn on the TV and lo and behold, there's
Lynette Boggs listening in on a town hall meeting. Talk about a small world.
Give me a call at HP 817-652-9136 or CP 325-280-0049, or e-mail me at jps814@comcast.net.

After WAHS I attended U of Maryland-Munich for one semester, moved to Kansas
City in Jan'82. Attended a local community college and made the fatal mistake of
making money. I went to work for an Engineering and Surveying company, fell into
surveying and loved it. Stayed 12 1/2 years. Licensed as a Land Surveyor in
Missouri and Kansas. I left there as department manager and moved to sales.
I now work for Trimble Navigation. I put GPS based guidance systems on heavy
construction equipment. Recently learned how to operate a CAT D9 dozer. I can't
believe I get payed to do this. I also teach part time at a community college,
Land Surveying.
I met my wife in '83. Married in '89. Two girls, Jordan 6 and Ashton 3. After
growing up with two brothers Jerry and Kenny, I had no clue what to do with
girls. Once again God has blessed me beyond belief, sweet, sometimes not so
sweet, little girls.
In 18 years I have only seen one alum, Randy (Piper) Bishop. Where the hell are
you? In the last two months I've visited with Ricardo Roman, Lawton OK, and
Tracy (Jansenn) Supan, Colorado Springs Co. I am so pumped for the reunion!

We moved in 1980 after my junior year, so unfortunately I graduated from a
different high school, which absolutely SUCKED. After high school, my parents
and I moved to Washington state. I went to college, went to Norway my Junior
year (1983/84) as an exchange student, and took the opportunity to visit WAHS in
Jan 84, as well as Peden Barracks (Wertheim) and the Ross. I must have had the
itch to travel or something, because between 1985 and 1999, I lived in Anchorage
& Skagway Alaska, Saga Japan, Bellevue WA, Minneapolis MN, Milwaukee WI,
Milton WA, Anchorage (again), and San Jose CA. And I've worked for three
different airlines, so you could pretty much say that I have never gotten rid of
the travel bug. I've been fortunate enough to keep in touch with some good
friends from high school, and have gone to all three reunions that Bob Manwaring
put on. What a blast!
Best Memory: One of my favorite memories happened when my parents and I
went to a gasthaus that was owned by a hunting friend of my dad's. Now I know
that not every single Wurzburg High school student was a drinker, but most of
you will be able to relate to this. We had a nice dinner, my parents each had a
glass of wine and they even let me have a beer (I was 16, had been drinking
since I was 14, so at this point they'd pretty much given up). The owner came
out with a round of this very wonderful apricot schnapps; I distinctly remember
the scent of the apricot when I held the shot glass up towards my lips. My dad,
mom and I all downed the schnapps. Dad's eyes watered up immediately. Mom was
sort of gasping/choking and grabbed my beer glass and downed the rest of my
beer. I was enjoying the warmth of the schnapps, and thinking "geez, can we
get another round of this stuff?" And I smiled at my dear parents, the
lightweights!

Education: University of Texas at San Antonio & Memphis State University
(now it's the University of Memphis)
Song: April Wine's "Just Between You and Me" to Thomas Christopher
Bell, whose sparkling blue eyes helped me to see the future I now have.
Date: February 13, 2000
After graduating WAHS, I went back to San Antonio for college. In June of 1983,
I met my future husband, Steve. Moved to Memphis with him in 1984 (hence Memphis
State University), finished college, did some eye research at the medical school
and got married in 1986. We had our first child in Feb. 1988 (Sarah Elizabeth),
and then moved to Austin when Steve finished his OB/GYN residency in July 1988.
Got pregnant again. Had our second child in June 1989 (Noah Benjamin). Got
pregnant again. Had our third child in February 1991 (Zachary Joseph). Got
pregnant again. Had our fourth child in March 1993 (Seth Michael). Seth has
seizures as a baby. Four kids in five years has worn me out. Decided to stop
getting pregnant. Got pregnant again -- without the fertility drugs -- surprise!
Had our fifth child in December 1994 (Abigail Claire). She was over two months
early and has a very rare genetic syndrome called Hallermann-Streiff Syndrome.
There are only 150 or so rep! orted cases. There went my chance at winning the
lottery -- I used up all my odds having Abby! She is doing absolutely fantastic
and continues to add a beauty to our lives that we could not have imagined
before her. Stress is thick in our house during 1995, but everything works out
for the best. I get pregnant again. We have our sixth (and final -- unless the
tubal fails) child in October 1996 (Hannah Mirit). She is the sweetest baby, but
we find out she has a heart condition which will require her to be on medicine
for the rest of her life. She began walking, and her sweetness evaporated. Now
we call her the brute, because nothing is going to stop her from reaching her
goals.
After a decade plus of doing the mommy thing and volunteering on every committee
under the sun, I decided that I wanted to do something with my life. I looked
around at available options, and decided on TEACHING -- something really
different that what I had been doing (Ha!). I enrolled in an alternative
certification course last March, got a job teaching special education students
(as if I don't have enough problems), and should end the program and the school
year as a bonafide, honest-to-goodness teacher. Let's see...mother, community
volunteer, special education teacher...I sure know how to pick the high-paying,
well-appreciated vocations, don't I?
Steve and I have now been together for 17 years, married for 13.5 of them, and
we have survived crisis after crisis, emerging more in love after each one. All
our children are happy, healthy, intelligent, caring people who conatantly bring
us joy and pride in the most unexpected ways.
Best Memory: I have to choose ONE!? Will it be the field trip to Paris?
Humanities class with Ms. West? French fries at McDonald's in downtown Wurzburg
with friends? Sitting on the wall of the castle late at night after prom? Hot
chocolate and chats around the fireplace of our apartment in Harvey Barracks?
Parties with Pink Panther cakes? Cross country team trips? Mushroom and
pepperoni pizza with dark beer in downtown Kitzingen? A trip to Spain that I can
only half recall? Friends, crushes, broken hearts, soaring spirits?

After graduation, I attended the University of Texas-El Paso from 1981-1982. I
tried out for, and got cut from one of the lousiest teams in NCAA Division I
football (#109 out of 110; only Columbia was worst). With my dream for football
stardom and college shattered, I joined the Air Force in October, 1982, as a
nuclear armament systems specialist. All I could think of is one wrong throw of
the switch, and Omaha aint here no more, and we're all wearing permament orange
afros and saying things like "my, don't you look radiant this
evening"! Anyway, after finishing tech school in Denver (beautiful,
snow-covered mountains for days), Uncle Sam sent me to Torrejon Air Base, Spain.
Being only 5 miles from Madrid, I learned the Spanish culture very quickly (se
habla Espanol muy fuerte y bueno). While there, I got a chance to see President
and Mrs. Reagan flamingo dance (how could a woman so small have feet so large?),
and Stevie Wonder in concert down in Madrid. ! Along the way, I married a
Spanish girl and had a son, Jacques, Jr.. Things didn't fare too well after I
returned to the States in 1986. Me and the Spanish girl divorced in 1987 while I
was stationed at Eglin AFB, (Ft. Walton Beach) FL. From there, I met and married
my present wife who was in the Air Force as well. In '89', we had a daughter
named Brittany, who was born on July 4th. Now 13, she fights with her 18-yr-old
brother, Shaun, constantly. Anyhow, after PCSing to RAF Lakenheath, England in
Nov. 1989, I went back to Spain, this time as a translator/ weapons loader on
F-111Fs (the same planes that bombed Libya in 1986). In Sept. of 1990, I
deployed to Taif, Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I was
there 7 months and had a chance to experience the Saudi way of life (Osari
Burgers; I'll never look at a camel the same way again). After returning from
Desert Storm, I became a Weapons Maintenance Instructor on F-15E Strike Eagles
that had just got to Lakenheath. While in jolly ol' England, I did get out and
about. In one instance, I drove my "Yank Tank", a 88 Chevy Camaro RS,
to London to check out Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guards. As I'm
looking for a parking spot, 10,000 people in shorts run past. I find out later
on that I'm watching the London Marathon and didn't even realize it! In 1993,
Uncle Sam sends me to Fayettevile, NC (Pope AFB). It was there that I began to
run into former Wolves such as Sandra Osborne (8! 1), Sheryl and Ray Roberts
(81), Joe Wilson (83), Lisa Hunsucker (83), and Ms. All-World in basketball,
Diedra Parker (79). 1996 had me PCSing to Misawa Air Base, Japan. The Japanese
welcomed me with open arms. I had nothing but love for them. I found out that my
mother used to go to elementary school on base at Misawa during the early 1950s.
While I was there, I went back to college in 1998 to finish my degree. I PCSed
from Misawa in October 1999, but not before running into Carlton Forbes (79) at
the shoppette. He was on the way to Valdosta, GA, while I was coming to Dyess
AFB (Abilene), TX to load bombs on B-1 bombers. Upon arriving at Dyess, I
continued work on schooling, finally receiving a B.S. in Professional
Aeronautics and a Certificate in Aviation Safety form Embry-Riddle Aeronautical
University in December 2001. (after a 19 yr hiatus). Bitten with the school bug
(and the quest for mo' money), I started work on a Master Degree in Aeronautical
Science in Ja! nuary, 2002. I'll be done in August, 2003.

After graduating from Wurzburg in 1981, my parents and I moved to Ft. Bliss,
Texas, where I attended the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) for a year.
After getting cut from the football team and not having a stellar year in the
academics department, I joined the Air Force in 1982 and went to technical
school at Lowry AFB (Denver), Colorado. My job was that of a nuclear armament
systems specialist (a fancy name for an aircraft weapons loader)! All I could
think of is "one wrong throw of the switch, and Omaha's not here anymore
and we're all wearing permanent orange afros and glowing in the dark"!
Anyway, after graduating from tech school in April, 1983, my first duty
assignment was Torrejon Air Base, Spain, which was 5 miles from Madrid.. It was
like I never left Europe! Between growing up in Kitzingen (71-73) and
Schweinfurt (76-81), I spent most of my school years overseas! Being in Espana,
I had a blast! Man, if I'd only gone on some of those class t! rips when I was
at Wurzburg! I was in Spain from 1983 to 1986. While ridding myself of that
shell of bashfulness that I had in high school (or nervousness, depending on who
I wanted to talk to), I married a Spanish girl in 1984. We had a son named
Jacques, Jr. in 1985 and moved to Eglin AFB (Ft. Walton Beach), FL in May, 1986.
After re-enlisting in 1986, things got rough with my wife being homesick, so we
divorced in 1987. Rebounding from this setback, I began to concentrate on my
military career. By 1988, I had my own weapons load crew, and was maintaining
F-15C Eagles similar to the ones at Bitburg Air Base, Germany. I'd gone to
places such as Venice, Italy, where it's like watching a Ragu commercial live
with the gondolas and everything (Mama Mia!!! Pass el Rague')! I'd also made a
return trip to Germany, going on temporary duty to Canadian Forces Base Lahr (in
the Black Forest) for 45 days. Being there in the fall, it was only natural that
I check the football sc! ores in the Stars-and-Stripes, and remember people like
Coach Szczep After arriving back home at Lakenheath, I began to do something
I've always wanted to do. I began to take flying lessons. I've always like
planes, ever since my dad would bring home NATO aircraft identification cards
when we were living in Kitzingen. I also started playing bass guitar. I play
pretty good by ear, but can't read a lick of sheet music. In 1993, the Air Force
had me leaving England and moving to Pope AFB, North Carolina, were I worked on
F-16C Fighting Falcons with the 74th Fighter Squadron (a.k.a. The Flying Tigers,
from WWII fame). Being a former military "brat", it's almost
inevitable that you run into someone you knew in school, or at another base.
While I was at Pope, I ran into Joe Wilson (82), Leslie Hunsucker (83), Sandra
Osborne (81), and Dedra Parker (79)(Phaedra's sister). Along those lines, I saw
Sheryl Roberts while I was attending my son's Pee Wee football practice in
Fayetteville. While at Pope, I deployed in October, 1994 to Dh! ahrhan, Saudi
Arabia, in response to Iraqi buildup of forces near Kuwait (it's obvious this
Saddam guy just won't take no for an answer). I also went to Thailand, where we
trained with the Royal Thai Armed Forces. In keeping with spreading good U.S.
ambassadorship, I played bass guitar in a Thai rock band. They spoke some
English. I spoke no Thai. We got along great. At an after-deployment party, we
got a standing ovation after playing "Cocaine" by Eric Clapton. While
there, I checked out the snake shows in Bangkok and Korat, along with helping
Navy Seabees lay a sidewalk at an orphanage by using cinder blocks. 1996 had the
Air Force sending me and my family to Misawa Air Base, Japan. I found out that
my mother used to live there. I always thought that she grew up in Tokyo. Living
in Japan was such an adventure. Up north, the Japanese still believe in the old
culture. The kids respect their elders, and everyone believes in honor and
teamwork. The scenery is beautiful and you get all four seasons, sometimes all
at once.

After graduating we left Wertheim and were assigned to Ft. Bragg where I
attended Methodist College and later FTCC. I worked part-time as a waitress at
Chi-Chi's restaurant where I eventually became a trainer and later office
manager. Opportunity came to move to Richmond, Va and manage the office of
Chi-Chi's new restaurant. Shortly after moving I met someone and we were
together for 4 yrs. He was a real jerk, so I finally got the courage to leave.
Out of that relationship I had a beautiful daughter December '84 named Jessica
Lynn. Left Richmond in '87 and moved back to Fayetteville. In '98 went to work
for a hospital in the HR dept as their HR Information Systems Coord. As for my
personal life I was a single parent for 5 years. During that time I partied a
lot and had a wonderful time. I did date a few guys and then fell madly in love
with a guy, but in the end it didn't work out. On November 13, 1982, by the way
this was Friday the 13th, I met the man that I wo! uld spend the rest of my life
with. He was in the Army at the time (I swore I would never marry anyone in the
Army). He was 8 years younger than me and we had the same last name :-) What a
coincidence. We married July '93 then received orders for Ft. Wainwright, Alaska
and we left in '94. Didn't like it there, way to cold for me. Stayed for 11
months and then my daughter and I came back to Fayetteville in '95. I went back
to work for the hospital in the same position that I had left (what luck). My
husband returned from Alaska in May '96 and got out of the Army. My daughter
Jessica was 13 at the time. We had a beautiful daughter, Lisette in April '97.
Having another child 13 years later was an experience to say the least. It was
like having a baby for the first time. Jessica is crazy about her and she's a
tremendous help to me. Jessica is now 17 yrs old. She will graduate in 2003 and
then off to college. Lisette will be 5 yrs old this month and is spoiled rotten
by her daddy. She is definitely daddy's girl. My husband is a Network
Administrator for Maidenform, Inc. He's working on his bachelors degree in
Engineering. As for me, I left my job in HR 2 1/2 yrs ago and moved to
Information Systems as a Systems Analyst and love it! Life is good for us right
now. Once Jessica graduates H.S. we would like to move to a bigger city where
there are better opportunities for us in the IT world. We love to travel and go
riding on our motorcycle.
Until a few days ago I never knew this web site existed. Over the years I always
wished we had class reunions. I never thought that you actually do have them. I
think that's wonderful and I hate that I one. I've looked at the photos and it
brings back lots of good memories during my years at WAHS. Mr. Sellars, he was a
wonderful guy. It's wonderful that they've dedicated a gym to him. Lynette Boggs
McDonald, wow!! She has really done well for herself. I remember Donald Loafman,
Ricardo Roman. I played volleyball my junior year and then was a cheerleader in
my senior year. I hated to leave Germany. As for other WAHS alumni, I stay in
contact with a few. Carmen Holts now Sonnier class of '82. She and her husband
were stationed at Ft. Bragg for a couple of years so we got to spend a lot of
time together. Aleasia Wilburn ('82) who dated another WAHS alumni Jerry Turner
(I think '82) for many years and later married. They are now in California.
Angie Espinoza ('82)! she lives in Charlotte, NC. I've seen on this site where
there are quite a few alumni who live in NC. A few have even lived or live in
Fayetteville. What a small world! Will definitely try to make it to next years
reunion!!
